Hi, good observations. I am based in Romania. We can find here Nutella in glass jars, made in 3 factories from Europe: Germany, Poland and Italy at Alba, where is also the headquarter of Ferrero. I prefere the German factory for 2 reasons: less sweet less sugar and more nutty taste and smell.
Strange, the Italy factory recipe has the taste as Poland factory recipe I presume that this factory produce Nutella for Eastern Europe, as are the languages on the jar. Anyway, I believe this is linked with the consumers tastes in specific regions, as Pepsi brand beverages made in Germany has less sugar mentioned on the can even the Dutch version of regular Pepsi is less sweet than the greek version made for Romania. Also, Milka chocolate of Mindless, made in Bulgaria for eastern countries is different than the ones made in Germany for German and Austrian markets — much too sweet and flat.
